The Frustration with Vets
When we first got Hannah, we dutifully took her to the local vet to get a check up and make sure she was up-to-date on her shots. We adopted her from the Dumb Friends League,so we thought she had everything she needed. Forty Five dollars later we left the vets office (it was supposed to be a free check up!). I started doing some research on pets and vets (pardon the rhyme) and found out that the conventional yearly check up may actually be harming our pets! Just as research is beginning to show the shockingly negative effects of vaccinations on children, the same is true for our pets. The harmful ingredients used in vaccinations can actually cause more problems than they prevent. We took a look at the research and decided that if at all possible, we were going to treat Hannah at home for common problems. We made this decision for three reasons: 1. It is safer and healthier, 2. It is far less expensive, and 3. The vet often misses symptoms that we see since we know Hannah so well. Our problem was that we had no idea how to begin home treatment in case it was needed, and how to prevent Hannah from getting sick to start with! After much research, we found a great guide to treating your dog at home. It is written by a vet with lots of experience. It deals with the causes of illnesses in dogs, how to prevent them, and how to treat them. It is well worth the money and we highly recommend it. For more information Click Here!
